Are
Courses Offered by At Home Seminars Approved?

Each state has their own rules
for continuing education credit. In some states
the Occupational Therapy Board or state Occupational
Therapy Association is
responsible for approving courses and in some states no
approval is required.
Some states do not pre-approve courses
and these states will say "No Approval of Courses
Required". In these cases, OT's should pick
courses relevant to the field of Occupational Therapy.
Beware of
companies who advertise "Guaranteed Approval"
for home study courses. They are
incorrect as some states do not allow home study courses
for licensure renewals or have strict requirements
or limitations on the home study courses that are
taken.
Contact your
licensing board before taking any course where a company
may state it is "up to the therapist" to
decide if a course may be taken. In
many cases, this is incorrect and specific
approval processes must be followed for the course to be
used for credit.
At Home Seminars contacts each state
annually to update our records but sometimes
requirements may change during the year. If you
know of any changes occurring in your licensure state,
please let us know!
Click on the state you will be
reporting CEU credit to and check the approval status of
the course you are interested in. If a state has
no approval process, any courses may be taken from At
Home Seminars. States which require approval of
courses will list the approving body (AOTA or OT Board)
and the hours each course is approved for.
