She developed the Recovercises program for breast cancer survivors at
Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer (SHARE, NYC) and Ellen
Bodner’s Next Step Fitness. She
has authored several articles on exercise for breast cancer survivors for IDEA
Today, MAMM Magazine, and Fitness Management.
Naomi believes that exercise is an essential part of the rehabilitation
process for breast cancer survivors, and focuses on wellness, rather than
disease.

Richard D. Asaro, PT,
DPT, MTC, CEAS is
a clinical director for Physiotherapy Associates in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
He conducts medical record reviews, peer reviews, and is a lecturer and
educator for the workman’s compensation industry.
He has worked in a variety of physical therapy settings including private
practices, hospitals, nursing homes and home care.
Richard is a certified manual therapist with 10 years experience treating
sacroiliac dysfunction in patients.
Richard completed his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the
University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in May of 2007.

Ellen Coleman, MA, MPH, RD
is recognized for her
clinical, academic and publishing experience.
A graduate of the California Polytechnic State University (BS in
dietetics, with honors), Loma Linda University (MPH in nutrition), and the
University of California, Davis (MA in exercise physiology), she has taught
nutrition courses at numerous universities in Southern California and published
scores of articles in popular and professional journals.
Her book, Eating for Endurance,
(Bull Publishing Co., 1992, 2nd Ed.) has won wide acclaim, and she
is actively sought for media interviews and speaking engagements before lay and
professional groups. She is
currently the nutrition consultant for The Sport Clinic in Riverside, Calif. Coleman is a competitive runner, bicyclist and triathlete who
finished the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon in1982.
She is also a member of the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness
Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association (SCAN) and the American
College of Sports Medicine. She
received the 1994 SCAN Achievement Award.

Cram, MS,
was the

Her company provides prenatal and postpartum
fitness certification training and information for
maternal healthcare providers, fitness professionals and
military medical staff.
Catherine
produced the video Progressive Postnatal Recovery,
which features self-care techniques and exercises
designed specifically for postnatal women, and developed
and was featured in the videos, Developing a Pre- and
Postnatal Fitness Program and Postpartum Recovery
Techniques and Exercises, for the American College
of Sports Medicine Healthy Learning Series.
She also authored the booklet, Prenatal
Fitness: Exercise During Pregnancy.
Catherine is a featured speaker at medical,
fitness, and maternal healthcare provider conferences.
She has been featured in articles on prenatal and
postpartum fitness and health in The American Journal
of Medicine and Sports, Glamour, Pregnancy, Baby Years,
Babytalk, Women’s Health and Fitness, Fit Pregnancy
and Parenting as well as in the Everything
Total Fitness Book.
She is on the board of Expert Advisors and is a

Lorne
Goldenberg,has
worked as a strength and conditioning coach for the
Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, St Louis

He lectures internationally on a variety of topics,
including stability ball exercises and ground-based
sports conditioning, for such groups as the National

and professional teams. He has written for the
NSCA Journal of Strength and Conditioning, Ironman,
Physical, Men's Journal, Hockey Life, and Hockey Now.
Goldenberg is the president of Strength Tek Fitness
& Wellness Consultants which provides workplace
health and wellness programs across Canada. He
also is the president of the Athletic Conditioning
Center, which is Ottawa's only sport conditioning
facility for the serious athlete. He lives in
Ottawa, Ontario, with his children, Isaak and Danielle.

Nancy Gustafson, MS, RD, LD
has held positions in clinical, academic and government settings. She served as a
nutritionist for the US Department of Agriculture, as a clinical dietitian at University
of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore and at Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL, and as publications
coordinator for the Metabolic Research Group at the University of Kentucky College of
Medicine. She has authored or co-authored five books and numerous professional and lay
articles on nutrition and health, including several articles in Vegetarian Times magazine.

Gwen
Hyatt, MS,
is
co-founder and president of Desert Southwest Fitness,
Inc. and has been a pioneer in the field of educational
training for fitness professionals since 1980.
She has served on numerous American Council on
Exercise (ACE) committees, including chairperson of the
Aerobic Instructor Exam Committee, 1985-1989;
chairperson of the Accreditation Committee, 1989-1993;
member of the Ethics Committee; and item writer for ACE
certification exams.
She currently serves on the Editorial Advisory
Board for ACE Fitness Matters newsletter and is a member
of the ACE Faculty Advisory Board.
Gwen also is a member of the advisory board for
the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).
She has authored 14 correspondence courses,
presented at 15 IDEA conventions, and taught over 30,000
fitness professionals.
A former faculty member at Bemidji State
University and the University of Arizona, Gwen is highly
respected for her work with exercise in aging and
special populations.
Gwen completed her second master’s degree in
gerontology in May 2000.

Dale Ames Kline, MS, RD, CNSD
has presented continuing education programs since 1984. A former nutrition educator in the
Missouri WIC program, she has created numerous seminar and home study courses on immunity,
pregnancy, weight control and womens nutrition, and has spoken before numerous state
and national audiences on nutrition topics. Named "Recognized Young Dietitian of the
Year" in 1984 by the American Dietetic Association, she works as chief clinical
dietitian at a small Northern California hospital. She is president of Nutrition
Dimension, Inc. Education: BA, Tufts University; MS, University of Missouri.

Karl
Knopf, EdD,
has been involved in adaptive fitness for over thirty
years in many different capacities, from college
administrator and professor to fitness instructor.
Karl has served as a consultant to Time Life videos,
Stanford University, and the University of California
and has been advisor to the State of California's
Community Colleges and to the Department of Public
Health. Karl has authored six textbooks and
numerous articles on older adult fitness and chronic
conditions and is a frequent speaker at numerous state
and national conferences. Currently, Dr. Knopf is
Professor of Adaptive/Older Adult Fitness at Foothill
College, President of Fitness Educators of Older Adult
Association, and is an advisor to ACE, IDEA, ISSA and
Sit & Be Fit in the area of older adult
fitness. He is the recipient of the respected
NISOD Excellence in Teaching award. Dr. Knopf
graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in
physical education and sociology. He was awarded a
master's degree in human performance and adaptive
physical education from San Jose State University and a
doctorate in higher education from Nova University.

Gregory
S Kolt, BSC, BAppSc(Phty), GradDipEd,
GradDipBehavHlthCare, PhD
is Professor of Health Science and Associate Dean
(Research) in the Faculty of Health Studies at the
Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. He
is co-editor of the journal Physical Therapy in
Sport. In addition to being a highly experienced
physical therapist, he has additional qualifications in
psychology (particularly sport and health psychology),
exercise science, and massage. He has undertaken
extensive related research and has held a variety of
appointments with national sports teams in Australia and
New Zealand as both a physical therapist and a sport
psychologist.

Jeffrey P. Larson, RPT, ATC
is a practicing Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer who resides in
Minnesota. He has worked extensively in the field of Sports Medicine as both a Physical
Therapist and a Certified Athletic Trainer. He has published many articles in medical as
well as layman periodicals and is a member of the American Medical Writers Association.

Lynn Macbeth, PT, MA, MS, GCS has been a physical therapist
since 1976 and has worked as a staff therapist, clinical educator coordinator,
manager, and NDT (neurodevelopmental treatment) practitioner.
Most recently, Lynn works full-time as a home health physical therapist
with a predominantly geriatric caseload. She
received her M.S. in Gerontology from the University of Arizona in May 2000 and
is a Geriatric Clinical Specialist in the field of physical therapy.
Lynn is a member of the Arizona Physical Therapy Association and the
American Physical Therapy Association. She
serves as a Board Member for the Tucson Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association and is on the Advisory
Board of the Tucson Loan Chest

Jeffrey K. McCamman BS. MPT
is a practicing
Physical Therapist who resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has worked in the field
of acute hospital care, outpatient physical therapy facilities with emphasis on
sports medicine and in the field of home health care. He previously held the
title of Director of Rehabilitative Medicine for Home Health Plus in Orange,
California. He currently works as a home care Physical Therapist in Las Vegas,

Audrey McCool, Ed.D., MA, RD
has worked in dietetics for more than 30 years, including management positions in food

David
H Perrin, PhD, ATC,
is dean and professor of the School of Health and Human
Performance at the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro. Before going to Greensboro, Perrin
directed the athletic training program at the University
of Virginia from 1986 to 2001. He received the
Sayers "Bud" Miller Distinguished Educator
Award from the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA)
in 1996, the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award
from NATA in 1998, and was inducted into the NATA Hall
of Fame in 2003. Perrin was a member of the NATA
Professional Education Committee from 1982 to 1995 and
was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Athletic
Training from 1996 to 2004.

Anthony
Polimeni,
is
the founder of “Positive Vegas” in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
With many years of experience working with HIV,
he himself knows from firsthand experience what being
HIV-positive means.
Since 2000, Anthony has been involved in HIV
prevention in Portland, Oregon and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since he moved to Las Vegas, Anthony has become a
HIV Testing and Prevention Counselor, teaching
prevention classes and becoming involved in the medical
aspect of HIV from a patient’s point of view. He also
founded “Positive Vegas”, a non-profit organization
assisting HIV patients in Southern Nevada.
By working with clients of the organization and
their doctors, Anthony and “Positive Vegas” have
created new ways to help those living with HIV.
Anthony is a spokesperson for many organizations
and one of the leading HIV-positive advocates in the
southwest region.

Debra
Rose, PhD, is
a professor in the division of kinesiology and health
promotion and co-director of the Center for Successful
Aging at California State University at Fullerton.
She is also a professor in the physical therapy
department at Chapman University at Orange,
California. Her primary research focus is on the
enhancement of mobility and the prevention of falls in
later years. Dr. Rose is nationally and
internationally recognized for her work in fall risk
reduction assessment and programming. Her research
in fall risk reduction in the elderly has been published
in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal
of the American Geriatric Society, Archives of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology Report, and
the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity.
The innovative fall risk reduction program she developed
and describes in FallProof! was recognized by the
National Council on Aging as one of seven meritorious
programs nationwide that promotes a healthy, active
lifestyle. She is a fellow of the Research
Consortium of AAPHERD, former executive board member of
the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport
and Physical Activity, and coeditor of the Journal of
Aging and Physical Activity.

Roberta B Shepherd, EdD, FACP

Lynn Snyder-Mackler,
BA, CertPhysTher, MS, ScD is
a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the
University of Delaware and an internationally recognized
clinician and clinical researcher in sports
rehabilitation. Dr Snyder-Mackler is a graduate of
the Johns Hopkins University, the University of
Pennsylvania and Boston University. She is a Board
Certified Sports Physical Therapist who maintains an
active Sports Physical Therapy practice at the
University of Delaware and serves as a rehabilitation
consultant to collegiate, amateur and professional
teams. She served as Head Trainer for the beach
volleyball venue at the 1996 Olympic Games in
Atlanta. She concentrates her clinical practice
and research in the areas of knee and shoulder
rehabilitation, and electrical stimulation of
muscle. She has authored many research
publications in the areas of knee and shoulder
rehabilitation and neuromuscular electrical stimulation,
and regularly speaks to international audiences on these
topics. Her research has won several major awards
for helping patients and practitioners, and answering
critical questions in sports rehabilitation.

Suzanne Nelson Steen DSc, RD,
is on the faculty of the Graduate Nutritional Sciences Program of the University
of Washington, where she serves as sports nutritionist for the Huskies
athletic teams. She was chair of
the Graduate Nutrition Education Department at Immaculata College (Pa) and
Clinical Director of the Weight and Eating disorders Center at Univ. of
Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr
Steen was a consulting nutritionist to USA Wrestling and a member of the
nutrition advisory committee for US Swimming.
Dr Steen has presented sports nutrition and exercise science programs to
coaches, athletes, and health professionals, and her work has been published in
numerous journals and books. Her
recent books include The Ultimate Sports Nutrition Handbook, Nutrition for
Sport and Exercise, and Play Hard Eat Right: A Parents’ Guide to Sports
Nutrition for Children. Education:

Pamela
Stuppy,
MS, RD,
has had a
20-year career in dietetics, including individual nutrition counseling, hospital
and nursing home dietetics. She has
conducted group presentations for community and professional organizations,
presented sports nutrition information to school athletic teams throughout New
England, formulated nutrition education programs, consulted to school food
service directors, and written materials for client education, and articles for
professional and lay publications. She
is actively involved on the Board of the Maine Dietetic Assn., operates a
nutrition counseling practice in southern Maine and New Hampshire, and is
consulting nutritionist for several private high schools.

Jacqueline
Thrash, OTR’s introduction
to working with the disabled was in an independent
living setting, through referrals from The Center for
Independent Living, in Berkeley CA. In the early 1980s,
she provided personal care for young adults who were
living in the community. She received her BS OT at San
Jose State University in 1986. She has worked,
primarily, in acute rehabilitation with an emphasis on
treating clients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic
brain injuries, and other neurological diagnoses. She
has also practiced in the home care, skilled nursing,
and adult day health care settings. She had her own
business, Living Skills Therapy in Oakland CA for nearly
ten years, and now owns Funny Feet Therapy & Living

In addition to developing education material in OT
school, she spoke at the OTAC conference as a student in
1982, and has continued with education in the clinical
setting whenever possible. She was recently inducted
into the National Anthropology Honors Society Lambda
Alpha at Pasadena City College, and presented a paper on
A Linguistic Analysis of Southern Dialect in the Media
to the Southwest Anthropology Association in April 2006.
She is a column writer for Advance for Occupational
Therapists: Person to Person, and a guest writer for
Advance for Physical Therapists. She is scheduled to
begin her post-professional MS OT at University of Puget
Sound in Tacoma Washington in July 2007.

Peter
Twist
is
the former strength and conditioning coach for the
Vancouver Canucks and is currently president of Twist
Conditioning Incorporated, an athlete conditioning
company with athlete conditioning centers; one-on-one
and team training; a line of 350 sport fitness products;
and sport conditioning specialist certifications
delivered by Twist Master Coaches throughout Canada, the
United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
A frequent guest lecturer at international fitness
conferences and coaching clinics, Twist delivers
workshops on sport conditioning to personal trainers,
conditioning coaches, sport coaches, teachers and
medical professionals around the globe.
Twist
has authored 7 books, 16 DVDs, and over 400 articles on
functional training. An NSCA-certified strength
and conditioning specialist with a master's degree in
coaching science from the University of British
Columbia, Twist served as president of the Hockey
Conditioning Coaches Association, editor of the Journal
of Hockey Conditioning, and NSCA provincial director
for British Columbia. Twist lives in North
Vancouver with his wife and children.

Linda L. Zorn, MA, RD, FAWHP
is director of the Pacific Wellness Institute and an instructor at California State
University, Chico. Responsible for the management of the Schools as Wellness Communities
program, the Healthy Chico Kids 2000 program, fund development, external contracts and
grants, and corporate training and development, Linda also provides nutrition consultation
services to Gatorade, and several local hospitals and clinics. Previously employed at the
National Wellness Institute in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, she also served as a lecturer at
the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Chair of the Sports, Cardiovascular, and
Wellness Nutritionists practice group (1992-1993), she is currently a member of the House
of Delegates of the American Dietetic Association and is the first Vice President for
Conference for the Association for Worksite Health Promotion. Linda received the
Recognized Young Alumni Award from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and was inducted as
a fellow of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion in 1996. Education: B.S. in
