Outline the current American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and international guidelines for exercise during pregnancy and postpartum. 4. Outline safe and appropriate exercise design for prenatal and postpartum women and identify considerations for training during pregnancy and postpartum. 5. Identify specific and appropriate exercises and activities for prenatal and postpartum women. 6. Recognize the benefits and guidelines of water exercises for pregnant clients. 7. Identify postpartum exercise goals and program design considerations for recovery from both vaginal birth and cesarean delivery. 8. Recognize contraindications to aerobic exercise during pregnancy 9. Recognize warning signs to discontinue exercise while pregnant. 10. Outline suggestions for initiating or enhancing a prenatal and postpartum exercise program. 11. Identify complications and common conditions of pregnancy and postpartum and management strategies. 12. Identify professional responsibilities, including health screening, monitoring exercise, record keeping and emergency procedures.
