Student Objectives: At the end of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Evaluate the stability of an ankle on plain film radiograph. 2. Understand the anatomy of the superficial peroneal nerve in relation to the fibula. 3. Analyze the surgical procedure if both the medial and lateral malleoli have been fractured. 4. Evaluate the return to driving criteria after right sided ankle fracture. 5. Evaluate weight bearing status if a syndesmosis screw is inserted during ankle ORIF. 6. Analyze early rehabilitation phases in ankle ORIF. 7. Understand the use of ankle mobilizations after ankle ORIF. 8. Understand healing time frame after ankle ORIF. 9. Evaluate the use of plyometric exercises after ankle ORIF. 10. Understand absolute contraindications for ankle arthroscopy. 11.
